Lara Philbrook Press exists to examine fashion beyond the runway.
We believe fashion is a cultural language & that the clothes we wear are connected to economics, politics, technology, identity, sustainability and our society. Our goal is not simply to report what is fashionable.
Our goal is to understand why fashion changes:
who drives those changes?
who benefits from them?
who is excluded by them?
and what they mean for ordinary people?
We value curiosity over cynicism, evidence over exaggeration, originality over imitation and transparency over performance. We are interested in the space between the fashion industry and the people who consume, create, wear and question it.
We look beyond the image. We ask better questions & we believe fashion deserves to be taken seriously without taking itself too seriously.
